Some of the reasons our members joined Lake City Rotary Club:
Jackie Ryan: The Rotary Club has given me the opportunity to meet new friends and be involved in worthwhile projects for the community. My favorite part of Rotary is the fun events that we participate in, such as the PAR golf tournament and the wine tasting fundraiser.
Tony Heise: When I was first asked to be a Rotary member, I had a lot of excuses why I did not want to join. Just ask the group – I was a hard sell!! But once I became a member, I was surprised how fun and rewarding it was. Rotary does a lot of great things for the community and for people all over the world.
Sonda Featherstone: I joined Rotary because of the “Service Above Self” motto. I am also interested in the international aspect of Rotary. Rotary not only supports local communities but is connected internationally through adult group study exchange and student exchange programs and more.
Cheri Kramer: When the opportunity came in 2002 to start a Rotary Club in Lake City, I jumped at the chance. I was a Rotarian in Decorah, Iowa for nine years before that, and I missed all the activities of the club and the friendships that we make.
Allen Hansen: Rotary members are professional business people and represent the many disciplines of our community. Rotary is an open society of men and women who simply believe in helping others. There is no secret handshake, no secret policy, and no official creed. Rotarians believe in service above self; it is richly rewarding.
Tom Witt: Rotary is a special service organization with both a local and worldwide view of helping others in need. We have a relatively young group of community business people who work hard together, yet know how to enjoy each other’s company and have a good time. Spend some time with us and see for yourself!
Nancy Rigelman: I joined Rotary as a charter member only knowing it was a service organization. Now I have found it to be a fun, energetic and caring group. New friends, adventures and knowledge are found with our Rotary group. It has been very rewarding. Come join us!
